Before printing: open the PDF's print dialog, select US Letter paper, and set Scale to 100% / "Actual size" — never "Fit to page" — or the tape will print undersized.

Why this fits on 4 sheets instead of 16

A straight ruler strip only uses one dimension of the page, so a long tape printed that way needs a fresh sheet every ~28cm. This tape is laid out diagonally instead — corner to corner, several parallel strips per sheet — because a page's diagonal is longer than either of its edges. That packs roughly 3–5× more tape onto every sheet.

Assembling your 10 foot measuring tape

Every strip is numbered (#1, #2, #3…) in the order it's used, regardless of which sheet or row it's on, and always reads in the same direction as the finished tape. Cut along each strip's outer edge, then tape the filled ● dot at the end of one strip to the matching dot at the start of the next — the label next to each dot tells you exactly which strip comes next, even when that's on a different sheet.
